Already in early summer we had planned to return (after our honeymoon last year) for a two week vacation in California.
LAX, Pacific coast highway, San Francisco, Napa Valley, Yosemite, Las Vegas, Palm Springs... Great - great plans. These plans were totally thrown out the window due to Moni feeling progressivley ill.
We still had the chance to sightseeing in San Francisco. Fun day with cable car, Fisherman's Warf and Alcatraz. Alcatraz was very recommendable - interesting and somewhat spooky. The movie with Clint really did a great job of capturing the look and feel of the place.
We also had the chance to go for a small hike in the Muir National Park to see some redwoods, do a wine tasting in Francis Ford Coppolas vineyard and a car safari in Yosemite. The landscape there is absolutely spectacular and hopefully one day we will return to hike up the "Half dome".
Once we came to Las Vegas, Moni was to ill to leave the hotel and we wound up at the emergency center. As somebody used to Swiss medical care, this is something you should avoid at all cost.
All in all, not the best vacation. But obviously, we are so happy to be pregnant that everything else feels very unimportant.
